Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Application Support Engineer / SRE to join our WIMT Platform team. The role involves ensuring the availability, stability, performance, and reliability of technology platforms, systems, and applications. You will play a critical role in Cloud transition and modernization efforts, working with Azure and OCP platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Ownership & Application Support:

  • Maintain technical and functional knowledge of systems.
  • Monitor system operations to ensure optimal availability, health, and performance (SLO/SLA-driven).
  • Triage alerts, respond to incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Address user queries related to business systems (not desktop support).
  • Implement change requests, including manual deployments and coordination.
  • Plan and execute Business Continuity Planning (BCP) strategies.
  • Continuously improve operational processes and methodologies.

Reliability Engineering:

  • Analyze system monitoring and observability requirements, implementing logging, monitoring, alerting, and analytics solutions.
  • Utilize software engineering and infrastructure knowledge for root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Development teams to enhance system reliability.
  • Identify and automate routine or manual operations through scripting and tooling.
  • Drive post-incident reviews to implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct weakness research and architectural reviews for continuous system improvement.
  • Create high-quality technical stories and tasks for backlog prioritization.
  • Ensure continuous reliability and supportability improvements of production environments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of application production support experience.
  • BS/BA degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong Azure and OCP experience is a must.
