Position: SQL Developer

Candidate interview with peers via webex for 1 or 2 rounds with a couple team members asking questions including coding exercise
70% Development, 30% Fixes
Need someone who takes initiative to move the development and fixes to completion
Responsible for the design and development of medium to highly complex systems. Skills include system design and analysis as well as business skills. Works with data and project managers to understand systems and consults with customers to understand needs. Developments and implements new systems, corrects software errors in existing systems, and works to improve performance through hardware upgrades. Manages computer systems in a business environment and responsible for resolving technical issues. Knowledgeable in programming, data structures, computer systems, and software engineering. Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or other related field. Ability to manage multiple assignments. Superior written and oral communication skills. 6-10+ years of experience.
Senior Technical Consultant - SQL Developer
Technical Requirements:
· Primarily a database developer that will work on enhancements and support of a large-scale SQL database for a business critical application.
· Must have good troubleshooting skills in order to be able to provide backup support to the production support team for any DB performance-related issues.
· Must be able to meet with business partners to understand requirements.
· Will be responsible to create design documents, develop and unit test code changes, and participate with users in UAT testing.
· Must be a problem solver.
· Must be able to look at new processes without documentation and come up with methods to resolve issues.
· Ability to work from a requirements or detail design document, coding enhancements to an enterprise-wide collections system.
· Support of system and coordinated user testing, and support of enhancements promoted to production.
· Ability to create documentation on enhancements coded using Microsoft Office.
· Expert at writing stored procedures, functions, triggers
· Expert on indexes and performance-sensitive coding methodologies to ensure efficient data retrieval from a large DB, including index management and statistics
· Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage and optimizing it
· Strong Experience with SSIS, SSRS, SQL server Replication
· Knowledge on Microsoft .net with SQL server backend
· Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL server
· Experience with Microsoft SQL server Enterprise edition 2012, 2014, and up
· Experience with some of the modern relational databases
· Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary
Qualifications
· Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
· 7 to 10 years of experience with IT software development
· Experience working in a collections system landscape preferred
· Good Analytical Skills
· Excellent Communication skills - verbal and written
· AWS knowledge - setting up S3 buckets, standing up EC2 instance, familiar with bucket policies , IAM role, familiar with different data formats such as JSON etc
· Expertise with Jenkins/Stash/Jira/Artifactory and other DevOps tools
· Expert at MS Office (specifically Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
· Must have significant experience working with and acting as a mentor to an off-shore team
· Experience with SSO
· Experience with Agile methodology using Jira
· Must be a problem solver

· The job entails direct communication with customers business group and timely delivery to customer. Applicant should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face
· Basic knowledge of File transfer technologies like SFTP, MFT etc.
