Description
We are seeking a Product Owner for a long-term hybrid (onsite 2 days/week) contract position in Austin, Texas. -Only Send Local Candidates-Public Sector is preferred
Responsibilities include:
* Performs advanced Product Owner work by planning and coordinating business processes analysis and determining required measures to meet Department needs. Coordinates the development, enhancement, and/or maintenance of information resources applications for the Department. Develops and writes conceptual business process design specifications; or plans, analyzes, coordinates, and supports the information needs of the Department. Work requires contact with business specialists, information providers, project managers and Department management. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.
* Utilize tools provided to document business processes and understand how they impact the Agency's transportation programs. Document business requirements and data fields to ensure understanding of how to automate the processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
* Plan and coordinate communications with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to capture business process and functional requirements for product modules and develop relevant BRDs
* Using information captured through as-is process documentation and stakeholder engagement, identify user stories and requirements to automate the assigned capability. Prioritize user stories for logical development during the sprints.
* Responsible for the assigned scrum team's comprehension of user stories to be developed and prioritization of their work. Develop a collaborative rapport with assigned scrum teams for agile scrum methodology to be effective.
* Provide end users and stakeholders with a variety of customer service experiences to encourage adoption of the new or enhanced product.
Requirements:
* 8-10 years of experience working in IT with at least 3+ years of experience as an Agile Product Owner or similar role.
* Deep knowledge of Agile Scrum framework including Scrum Ceremonies like Backlog Grooming, Release planning, Sprint Planning meeting, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review meeting and Sprint Retrospective also documenting various Scrum Artifacts such as Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Information Radiator (Burn-up, Burn-down charts).
* Knowledge of other industry standard software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Extreme Programming (XP), Rational Unified Process (RUP), Spiral Model, Kanban and Scrum.
* Experience with User Acceptance Testing, getting feedback. and ensuring that the system meets the client's requirement.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and executives to prioritize requirements, manage expectations, and deliver successful product outcomes.
* Experience with software development tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Trello for Agile project management and Agile reporting.
* Experienced with methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile Scrum, Hybrid Scrum-Waterfall.
* Ability to collect and analyze product feedback from various sources (e.g. user research, market analysis, customer support data) and translate into actionable product features.
* Familiarity with design thinking methodologies and a user-centric mindset to ensure that the product vision meets or exceeds customer expectations and requirements.
* Bachelor's or Kaster's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred:
* Knowledge of Data Warehousing Architectures like Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Operational Data Store, Data Marts and reporting tools like Tableau and Power BI used to drive operational intelligence.
* Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) environments.
* Knowledge on SQL queries such as Joins, SELECT, Order by, Group by, Rollback, Commit and Aggregate functions such as Count, Min, Max to extract data from different database for data analysis and data validation.
* Public Sector is preferred
