Position: AEM Front-End Developer Location: US (Remote) preferably on East Coast Position Type Contract EXp: 10+ Must Skills AEM/AEM Franklin, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), JavaScript, Node.js or React, Vue or Angular Job Description Responsibilities Works in an agile, collaborative environment across software architecture, understanding both front-end and back-end concerns while specializing in the front-end. Work closely with designers to take wireframes from conception to implementation and work closely with back-end developers to ensure implemented UI code is unit-tested and production-code ready. Code user interfaces, including interactions, responsive layouts, and styling. Use and contribute to the Merative Design System to implement UIs. Ensure user interfaces are accessible and enhance the performance of the application. - Work within the current Merative’s AEM Franklin site repository and collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration of front-end changes.
- Produce high-quality HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code to accurately implement Client designs and adhere to the Merative Design System.
- Engage in regular consultations with the Client to discuss and propose different front-end approaches while considering project constraints and requirements.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve front-end issues and bugs promptly, ensuring the stability and functionality of Merative's installment AEM Franklin.
- Offer expert advice and consultation on accessibility considerations, ensuring the application adheres to accessibility standards and guidelines.
- Open pull requests (PRs) for all front-end code changes and actively participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Work side by side with the Marking Design Lead to implement automated testing procedures for the front-end code, ensuring a robust testing process.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all team members, providing updates on code changes, testing progress, and potential risks associated with the migration effort within Teams calls and channels.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions, offering insights and expertise to facilitate a successful migration and expansion into AEM Franklin.
- Create thorough documentation for front-end code, including usage instructions, APIs, and architecture diagrams.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing to ensure the stability and reliability of front-end components.
Required Skills - Experience with front-end development in AEM/AEM Franklin and open-source content management systems.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), JSON, API usage, with a deep understanding of their semantics and best practices.
- Experience with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS for efficient styling.
- Experience in programming languages like JavaScript, Node.js or frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular.
- Experience with working on GitHub and Jira.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines to create inclusive web experiences for users with disabilities.
- Experience working in Kanban and Agile methodology.
