Job Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct accountability of the technical architecture roadmap and strategic environment plans as it relates to our environment, platforms & frameworks
- Designs and leads the implementation of an architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies, as well as to rectify gaps and failure points within the current state
- Documents necessary architecture design, process flows and analysis details
- Facilitates the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations as they relate to the systems involved
- Educates developers/engineers on development techniques and alternate approaches
- Documents best practices and creates development resources that can be used by other developers specific to Systems
- Assess and reduce technical debt related to legacy implementations
- Participates in the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
- Drive or participate in R&D/POC activities
- Continually seeks ways to improve and enhance system performance and data quality
- Develops programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse/extensibility with minimal engineering for change
- Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies
- Provides input to Enterprise Architecture that helps builds reference architecture, frameworks and toolkits to drive scale of adoption in the ecosystem
- Advocate for Enterprise Architecture and ensures that Enterprise Architecture guidelines and recommendations are followed and bridges gaps directly with Enterprise Architecture
- Delivers persuasive, passionate, high impact, high-quality presentations to senior decision-makers
- Performs other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis or a related field preferred
- AWS Architect certified required
Experience:
- 6+ years of retail and/or supply chain industry experience in application and technical roles
- 4+ years of Architectural design experience with a Cloud native AWS & legacy on-prem hybrid connectivity
- 4+ years of experience converting technologies and building/maintaining developer relations
- 3+ years implementation/consulting experience
- Expertise in multi-channel solutions, products, and frameworks
- Proven ability to architect, develop, and deploy experiences across cloud, desktop, mobile, tablet, and digital displays
- Knowledge of software/hardware design, selection, and deployment techniques and methodologies
Knowledge:
- High-level understanding of relational database management systems and other data structures
- Knowledge of all components of a technical architecture
- Understanding of network architecture
- Solid knowledge of the following is preferred:
- Cloud/Hybrid Application Architecture
- Experience with containerization and management
- Component Driven Architecture (12-factor Applications – reusability, scalability, extensibility)
- Overall system health (logging and monitoring components & approaches)
- Secure API design principles
