We are looking for Spark Scala @ Remote, for the opening with one of our clients.

Job Title: Spark Scala
Location: Remote

  • Experience and knowledge of Apache Spark
  •  Good experience writing software using a modern programming language (e.g., Java, Scala, Python)
  •  Managing a team of software engineers writing new code to build a bigger, better, faster, more optimized HTAP database (using Apache Spark, Apache Arrow, Kafka, and a wealth of other open-source data tools)
  • Good software development foundation (i.e., data structures, design patterns & principles)
  • Scala (with a focus on the functional programming paradigm)
  • Scala test, JUnit, Mockito Embedded Cassandra
  • Experience in Apache Spark RDD API, Apache Spark SQL Data Frame API, Apache Spark MLlib API, Apache Spark GraphX API, Apache Spark Streaming API
  • SQL database integration Microsoft, Oracle, Postgres, and/or MySQL
  • Experience working with HDFS, S3, Cassandra, and/or DynamoDB
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems (CAP theorem, partitioning, replication, consistency, and consensus)
  • Spark query tuning and performance optimization. Design pipeline end to end to meet customer requirement.
  • Coding in Scala using existing frameworks to meet business requirements
  • Codifying best practices for future reuse in the form of accessible, reusable patterns, templates, and code bases to facilitate meta data capturing and management
  • Scaling up from proof of concept to “cluster scale” (and eventually hundreds of clusters with hundreds of terabytes each), in terms of both infrastructure/architecture and problem structure)
