Job Summary Seeking a candidate with a robust and diverse background in Software Engineering, Software Design, and Systems Architecture with a focus on Container orchestration, reliability, and system integration. Help to design, build, and run large-scale, fault-tolerant Container-based solutions in the Cloud using a combination of native services and best-of-breed commercial tools. We’re looking for talented Engineers, either from Development, Infrastructure, or SRE backgrounds, for this role to act as a force multiplier to deliver solutions in the Cloud. Principal Duties & Responsibilities - Designing, developing, and automating solutions for large-scale systems and high-traffic applications in Cloud-based Container environments
- Develop Container templates to facilitate application containerization for consumption by application teams
- Define standards and create and maintain runbooks/playbooks for operational support of the Container-based Cloud environments
- Perform assessments of Container workloads and environments to identify gaps and implement performance and cost-saving improvements
- Participates in troubleshooting sessions including working with business teams, analyzing logs and data, opening service requests with CSPs, working with Vendors, Partners, and CSP Support, and driving problem resolution
- Reviews architectural designs for applications to ensure reliable and performant design patterns are implemented
- Analyze and provide recommendations for emerging Container technologies and CSP advancements for Container hosting and services
- Defines and tracks operational metrics for Production performance, reliability, scalability, and availability dimensions for Container-based workloads
- Contributes to the team’s continuous improvement through research, creation of knowledge articles, and participating in discussion groups
- Continuously learning and sharing knowledge with team members and project teams
- Performs other duties as required
Professional - Education & Experience:- Qualification Level Education Degree Specification Minimum Required Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or equivalent experience Minimum Required Certification One or more AWS or Azure Certifications Desired Certification Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) Qualification Level Experience Minimum Required Two Years Cloud and Container experience Minimum Required Experience with multiple programming/scripting languages, Windows and Linux Operating systems, networking, systems and data design and agile methodologies Job Knowledge & Skills - Experience in large-scale Container deployments and Enterprise usage
- Experience with Container orchestration solutions (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Experience with Container management solutions (Rancher, Mirantis etc.)
- Experience with Container service mesh solutions (Consul, AWS App Mesh, etc.)
- Cloud Architecture experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Programming/scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Java, etc.)
- Configuration Management software experience (Chef, Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack)
- Infrastructure-as-Code expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
- Familiarity with running and scaling distributed software systems (load balancing, high availability, systems monitoring, etc.)
- Familiarity with structured text (JSON, YAML, XML)
- Proven application production support experience (SRE, DevOps)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passion for automating routine tasks
- Solid understanding of networking and network-related structures
- Willingness to be a part of a culture of continuous improvement
- Experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems administration
- Ability to multitask and adapt to quickly changing priorities
- Ability and willingness to work off-hours on occasion
