Network Engineer, Pivotal Ventures:
Collaboration and understanding of security (integration with physical security systems) Physical offices and personal residences that have intricate security systems.
Will work very closely with security team
Cloud aspect/ do not have (on hand?) infrastructure at this point, want to be more cloud centric

Has separate DevOps team
Day to day: Initial 6-12 mos- learning existing infrastructure, what will be migrated over – lots of collaboration with parent company. Security is centrally located and moving to new location. Vital to help with transition.
Tech team around 8-9 people and adding more team members to take on shared services.
Flexibility to travel when transition occurs. Hybrid OK.
Interview Process: take more time than most – narrow down to 2 or 3 candidates _ 2-3 week process aware of market

Migrate core nodes into AWS, switching and routing in a Cisco environment, SD/WAN experience a must |
Key Responsibilities |
Partner Closely with Security Team to Implement strategy, technical direction, and engineering solutions for enterprise-wide Network-Infrastructure services supporting key business requirements Participates in development and execution of architecture, engineering, and operational roadmaps for IT Infrastructure services globally Provides technical leadership for the establishment and implementation of end-to-end solutions utilizing new technologies Provides technical solutions for the establishment and implementation of high availability and/or integrated solutions Provides clear and concise recommendations to remediate performance bottlenecks. Participates in testing with other teams to ensure that performance expectations are met after rolling out new applications and services Provides escalation and support for troubleshooting and resolution of Network-Infrastructure issues as required by other infrastructure support teams Maintain expertise in Network-Infrastructure technologies to ensure that cost-effective solutions and processes are deployed and aligned with business direction Partner with business unit and development team SMEs to develop best -practices that can be proactively incorporated into architectural and engineering designs Manage, measure, monitor, and report Infrastructure characteristics Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative matrix environment Develop and maintain partnerships with key vendors and ensure that all technology and services roadmaps are understood and leveraged where applicable Partner with other IT functions and third party service providers in the conception, evaluation, piloting, engineering, and operational delivery of solutions for the organization Provides on-call support for business-critical escalations Installs & qualifies components into production following company policies & procedures Participate in IT risk management initiatives in line with industry and corporate audit and compliance strategies Collaboration and understanding of security (integration with physical security systems) Physical offices and personal residences that have intricate security systems. |

Expert-level experience in depth with key Network-Infrastructure technologies, design/implementation, protocols, standards, and best practices (BGP / DMVPN / QoS / Enterprise Switching / Datacenter Switching) Expert-level experience with Network-Infrastructure capacity planning and general Network-Infrastructure management best practices Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Able to perform and lead in intercultural environments and projects Able to conduct research into Network-Infrastructure issues and products as required Experienced in planning and leading med-large projects Creative and well organized with a history of consistent project management and follow-through Develops partnerships with others to support and collaborate in delivery of goals Innovative with strong analytical problem solving and interpersonal skills Strong crisis and vendor management skills Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment Strong communications skills in English Specific Requirements Cisco Routing & Switching expert (DMVPN / BGP / QoS) Automation- Ideally, Ansible or Terraform Cloud Infrastructure Architect level (AWS preferred) Can work with Linux/Unix systems Can work with Monitoring and Alerting solutions Expert understanding of network policy management platforms (Cisco Client preferred) Expert understanding of load balancing technologies (F5 preferred) Expert understanding of DNS technologies (Infoblox preferred) Expert understanding of Cisco Meraki IT Security focused |
