Role: Windows /Azure Engineer (L3)
Location: Arlington Heights, IL/ Remote until covid
Duration : 12+ months
Need 9+ years of exp.
Job Summary:
This individual will join a team as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting Active Directory, Identity Management and privileged access management systems. We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record of supporting, designing and deploying Active Directory in a large enterprise.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Windows 2016,2012 / 2012R2 and 2008 R2 Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) ,Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS servers, ADCS, ADFS servers, and Azure AD Connect servers.
• Includes, but not limited to, planning, systems analysis, design, scripting, and documentation.
• Analyzing existing systems and Processes to recommend changes/improvements to them to maximize user capabilities.
• Meeting assigned project deadlines and work schedules. Timely and accurate completion of special projects and assignments.
• Effective use of time and equipment to accomplish assigned projects.
• Understanding, supporting, enforcing and complying with company policies, procedures and standards of business ethics and conduct.
• Effective and consistent cooperation and communication with Team Leadership and key company personnel.
• Performing duties in a professional, polite, considerate and courteous manner.
• Participate in on-call rotations and perform off-hour maintenance activities.
• Deploy, administer, and secure Windows systems and Core MS Services.
• Design and engineer high-availability, scalable solutions for new and existing services
• Support production infrastructure and development operations
• Automate repetitive tasks and workflows
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve complex issues
• Research, implement, and document new tools and processes
• Act as an escalation point for support departments in resolving internal and client-facing issues
• Learn new technologies required for efficiency of current infrastructure and process and guiding (training) team members.
Required Skills and Competences
Primary Skills:
• Well Versed with Windows Systems Fundamentals, Architecture, Administration and Operations along with network fundamentals for a multi domain forest environment.
• Installation and maintenance of Windows Environments and services like Authentication AD,, IPAM (DHCP/DNS), Virtualization, DB Services (including strong understanding of supporting infrastructure like storage, network etc.).
• Hands on with Automation of daily tasks:
o Powershell
o DOS Batch Scripting
o Any Other Scripting Language
o Monitoring health of AD environment and Notification
• Microsoft Core Services:
o AD/DNS/DHCP/ADFS (GPO, Sites and Services)
o RDS
o Azure AD
o DFS
o SQL Server
• Virtualization:
o Vmware/Hyper-V
• Well Versed with ITSM Processes
• People Skills:
o Stakeholder Management
o Negotiation
Desired Skills:
• Azure Cloud Services –Azure AD ,ADDS
• Familiarity with SQL Server Administration and principles
• Familiarity with Devops and associated tools, including implementation in Wintel based Application stacks.
