Location: Remote Workers

A Virtual Desktop will be provided if the resource is designated as a remote worker

 

Required Qualifications:

Ability to learn and adapt to a fast-paced changing and challenging environment

Good project and time management skills

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated, self-directed and be able to work under strict timelines

 

Micro Focus Enterprise

COBOL

JCL

SQL (Oracle SQL, PL/SQL)

Reporting (Focus) – nice to have

CICS

VB6

VB.Net / ASP.Net / Windows / TFS

Subversion

Oracle Database experience (Version 12c or 19c)

Responsibilities:

Mainframe developer candidate will be enhancing existing legacy code to modernize it so that we can remove current restrictions by utilizing the Micro Focus enterprise suite.  Work will be performed on Cobol, JCL, Sql, PL/SQL and will utilize an Oracle relational database.     

 

Candidates will be responsible for modifying code, unit testing and assisting with user acceptance testing.  There is the potential that the candidate may be asked to analyze the code and create design documents.

 

 

Screening Questions:

General:

What was one of the toughest problems you solved, what process did you use to solve it?

Describe a project or idea that was implemented or carried out successfully because of your efforts?

Describe a time you were able to overcome a communications barrier with a peer, coworker, or teammate?

Tell me about a time you struck a compromise with a teammate or coworker to move the project forward?

What is your greatest accomplishment?

Cobol:

Explain what a SOC7 is and how do you debug it?

JCL:

What will happen if you attempt to restart a job in the middle of a JCL // IF .... // ENDIF?

SQL (Oracle):

What is a subquery?  Can you give a simple example? 

Difference between a "where" clause and a "having" clause?
