Position: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Location: Eden Prairie, MN – 100% Remote

Duration: 6-12 Months

Client: UHG

Rate: $55/Hr. on C2C.

Required: Healthcare background with experience in data standards like FHIR, HL7

 

Required Skills

Azure 5+ years of designing and implementing Java based applications

• 1-2 years' experience in Azure or AWS

• Working knowledge of RESTFul APIs

• 6+ years of relational database delivery

• 4+ years of experience in Agile Delivery

• 2+ years in Dev Ops Automation tools (Oozie, Python etc.)

• Experience in working with DevOps teams in an Agile Delivery/onshore-offshore model (5-10 headcount)

• Excellent communication skills with ability to describe "data/capability stories" (and not defects) and explain value (and not resolution) to customers.

• Experience in HealthCare industry standards like HL7, FHIR or SMART

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience

 

Basic Qualifications

Job Description: 

What is the specific title of the position?
Senior Dev Ops Engineer
Can you please provide a summary of the project/initiative which describes what's being done?
CMS Interoperability compliance work in support of Line of business. We are building API platform that we support exchange of data with Payors in FHIR standards

What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background, etc.)?
Azure/Java/API experience in DevOps model. Heralthcare background with experience in data standards like FHIR, HL7.

What does the team make-up look like – how many members and what is the break-down of the team's skill sets (ex: 1 PM, 4 Developers, etc.)?
Team includes 1 PO, 3-4 DevOps engineers, 1-2 Quality Engineers . Skills include Java, JSON, Health care data standards, API, Azure


Primary Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with product owners, systems analysts and software engineers to deliver against an agile roadmap
• Work with architects and other software engineers to evaluate functional and non-functional requirements and deliver creative, high quality solutions
• Design, develop, test and maintain data intensive applications including Java, , Azure or AWS, relational and non-relational data storage, APIs
• Follow and improve on processes for continuous delivery and DevOps within your team
• Build and main configuration management and automation tools, deployment strategies/processes, monitoring tools.
• Experienced in Software Engineering practices like Reliability Engineering, Deployment planning, Fault Tolerant architecture, Test Automation.
• Experience in Data As a Service and Container As a Service models.
• Experience in incident ticket tracking tools and processes like ServiceNow
• Collaborate on quality strategies that ensure our data platform is correct, resilient, scalable and secure
• Support applications throughout the SDLC from design to Production Deployment
• Participate in and provide input for system analysis, design walkthroughs and code reviews
• Participate in defect review and triage
• Adhere to design/coding standards and constantly improve the way we build and deliver software

Required Qualifications:

What skills/attributes are nice to have?
Healthcare experience, infrastructure experience using TerraForm

What are the work hours? (ex. 9am-5pm, day/night shifts, rotating shifts, etc)
7:30 am CST – 4 pm CST. There might be situations where some customer meeting can run into 5 pm CST.

What does the interview process look like?
2-3 rounds via video/phone. For this role we need someone to have knowledge of Java, Azure, JSON, DevOps and Terraform infrastructure (preference)
