Migrating from Ruby on Rails to Java
They don’t need Ruby on Rails Experience.
- Microservices (Actually built services, know CAP theorem) for a service to work well you must handle all cross-cutting concerns in one way. Make sure you can scale service. How is database linked to service, is it only one database?
- Has built Distributed Systems – Know design Patterns that are commonly used for messaging. Familiar with Domain driven design. Know CQRS.
- Kafka use would be good. Asynch communication between systems, how do they do that – any system works.
- APIs – very familiar.
- Must have strong Computer Science background – algorithms, data structures
- Nice to have-AWS Experience
