Position: Epic Business System Analyst

Client: SAN FRANCISCO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: 5 year contract

The Epic Business System Analyst works to meet end-user data needs, serving as a leader and coordinator of reporting projects on the LDWEpic subteam. This individual is responsible for validating Epic foundation data attributes and system reports and leading the effort to identify, build, and deliver advanced clinical, business, and operational data attributes for implementing downstream reporting applications.
This individual leads engagements with internal clients to analyze and define report requirements; documents specifications, designs, develops, tests,installs, implements, and maintains repositories and is the subject matterexpert on aspects of Epic for assigned clinical and revenue applications. The Cogito Business Analyst is a member of the LDW and reports directly to theProject Manager of LDW.

Job Summary
Facilitates Epic vision development, solution design, standardsguidance, project scoping, IS strategy integration and implementation ofefficient, high quality technology and applications systems

Knowledge of heath data is essential
Evaluates technology, systems and application capabilities, analyzesworkflow/data flow, and creates efficient and logical solutions
Plans, schedules, reviews, and performs analysis, design, construction,testing, and implementation of Epic and related application systems
Participates in solution testing and documents clear and concise systemdescriptions that meet project requirements and departmental quality standards
Utilizes organizational project management methodology, processes, andsystems to ensure effective and efficient project development and completion
Evaluates requests for data, performs gap analysis and provides estimates foreffort for completion
Collaborates with leaders, team members and end users to develop efficient,cost-conscious technology and applications system specifications that maximize organizational performance
Ensures security, integrity, and privacy of data in conjunction with policies and procedures
Develops and implements data driven performance improvement methodologies
Maintains accurate records for use in evaluating organizational performance
Identifies ways of improving current services and consults with management on issues and problems
Strives to promote the quality and efficiency of his/her own performance by remaining current with the latest trends in field of expertise throughparticipation in job-relevant seminars and workshops, attendance atprofessional conferences, and affiliations with national and state professionalorganizations
Utilizes IS project methodology and best practices to improve individual and organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes

Minimum Requirements &Education
Experience as licensed health care clinical professional, business operationsor information systems or EPIC certified Licensure
If not certified, must attend and achieve applicable Epic education course certification within ninety days of training implementation.

Epic/ Cogito certification is a huge plus.
