Position :: VMWare-Wintel Administrator – Level III

Location:   Valley Green, PA

Resource Type : TP 

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

i.             Design and perform system management, Configuration Management, deep troubleshooting, Preventative Maintenance and corrective maintenance, performance monitoring, and enhancement

ii.             Provide comprehensive Linux and Windows systems management

iii.            Define and plan tests of new Equipment and Software

iv.            Define and plan the requirements for off-hour systems maintenance work

v.            Oversee Change Management activities on the supported systems

vi.            Define security controls and capabilities in Operating Systems, layered products, and specialty Software to achieve security goals

vii.           Develop operations procedures, such as backups, recovery processes, and queue management

viii.          Install and configure Linux, and Windows systems

ix.            Assist business users and systems engineers with the setup, installation, and testing of their Applications

x.            Interface with users and systems engineers in order to Resolve technical and user Problems.

xi.            Hands on experience in VRA, vRops and ESXi administration.

xii.           Datacenter hardware and refreshment experience.

xiii.          Sound technology on HP, DELL Hitachi, Nutanix platform.

xiv.          Platform Seeking an ESX/VMWare Systems Admin (SysAdmin) who will be a second level support.

xv.           Candidates should have in-depth, hands-on experience with VSphere (5.5+) as well as common technologies used in a VMWare environment such as Site Recovery Manager and the vRealize suite

xvi.          Working knowledge on any of monitoring tools like SCOM, Moogsoft, SOlwarwinds etc.

xvii.         Broad knowledge of Storage (Vmax, PURE), Networking, Hardware (UCS, Dell) and Windows/RHEL and the supporting services.

xviii.        Additionally, they should be familiar with scripting

xix.          Should have knowledge on the applications like SCCM, KMS, Avamar, HP DP, BRMS, Symantec etc.

xx.           Good Knowledge of Cluster environment

xxi.          Advanced troubleshooting skills in OS related issues

xxii.         Patch management, Virus Management, Firmware & BIOS upgrade

xxiii.        Working Knowledge of File and Print servers

xxiv.        Log monitoring/maintenance

xxv.         Understanding of capacity planning, performance monitoring, and tuning.

xxvi.        Hand-on knowledge on various RAID technologies (RAID 0+1, RAID 1, RAID 5 etc.)

xxvii.       Should have knowledge on Backup operation.

xxviii.       Knowledge of Active Directory would be desirable

xxix.        Good Communication skills

xxx.         H/W troubleshooting & Vendor coordination

xxxi.        Extensive hands-on knowledge of Windows 2003/2008/2016 Servers,

xxxii.       Working knowledge of VMware host and Guest OS management skills.

 

Qualifications:

i.             BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education or experience

ii.             Certification in system or data management

iii.            5+ years of experience managing and Supporting Esxi  and Windows servers

iv.            5+ years of experience configuring and managing Storage subsystems

v.            Advanced knowledge of standard system administration Tools and practices

vi.            Advanced knowledge of industry and government security standards and practices

vii.           Strong Windows administration skills

viii.          Strong communication skills (written and oral).

ix.            Must have base knowledge of Dell  and Cisco UCS server technologies and peripherals. Including rack mount and blade architecture along with chassis, OA's, RIB's, fiber cards, system boards, network cards, memory, cpu, etc. (some Dell and IBM).

x.            Must have support experience in VMWare and HyperV virtualization, including build outs of physical hosts/farms and virtual server configurations. Along with physical to virtual migrations. (This includes base knowledge around storage and network within a virtualized environment).

xi.            Requires basic knowledge around SAN storage infrastructure and network troubleshooting. Including the ability to troubleshoot server network and blade chassis switch issues.

xii.           Requires knowledge of inventory and data center space management.

Basic knowledge in Windows and Linux preferred.
