Sql Server DBA- Dallas TX Long-term

 

SPECIFIC SKILL SETS REQUIREMENTS:
5 years SQL DBA Administration Experience (2012/2014/2016/2017)
2-3 years of Windows Clustering
2-3 years of PowerShell Scripting Ability
Comfortable writing, maintaining and optimizing basic to intermediate T-SQL
Basic to intermediate database performance tuning capabilities
2-3 years of managing SQL Server Failover Clusters (Windows 2012/2016)
Ability to quickly triage and resolve availability/performance issues related to SQL Server
Familiarity with SQL Server client and administrative tools
SQL Server database backup/recovery
SQL Server database security administration
MS Office proficiency 

SPECIFIC SKILL SETS DESIRED, BUT NOT NECESSARILY REQUIRED:
2-3 years of Oracle and/or MongoDB experience
2-3 years of Unix/Linux experience
2-3 years of Bash/KSH scripting experience
2-3 years of Windows or Linux Administration experience

WHAT EXACTLY WILL THIS INDIVIDUAL BE WORKING ON?
SQL Server Administration supporting the various application teams running SQL Server databases in various locations.

The SQL Server environment currently includes database versions 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017.

All SQL Server database are currently running on Windows Clusters or running in a VMware environment leveraging clustering at the hypervisor layer.
This individual contributor’s daily activities may include, but will not be limited to: 
Respond to and resolve customer requests such as code reviews, publishing, and problem resolution
Perform daily tasks of researching alerts and system events
Facilitate database change management and security
Perform backups and restores as requested by the customer
Work with customer to tune and optimize the database and queries
Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements as well as with standards, policies and procedures
Author and maintain technical documentation, standards and procedures, and architectural diagrams
Update/Patch different versions of SQL Server
Develop scripts in PowerShell, T-SQL, and other applicable programming languages to automate database deployment, maintenance, and updates.
