Position : GCP/Google cloud platform Engineer.
Location : Remote.
Job Description:
· Criteria for GCP Resource (Contractor)
· Expertise to provide guidance on best practices (the goal is to provide assurance we are going down a good path and not a rabbit hole) in areas below.
Ø VPC / VPC Peering/ Transit VPC/Shared VPC Design/Routes/DNS Management/Load balancing/distribution/Encryption in transit and at rest.
Ø Hybrid Connectivity including Cloud Routers
Ø Billing / Quotas and Capacity
Ø Compute & Kubernetes Engine including VM Instances patching - understanding of Private vs Public Cloud Parity
Monitoring
Ø Identity access Management including Organization layout, Quotas, Labels, Cryptographic keys, roles and audit for compliance.
Ø GCP Exposed APIs & using pipelines to deploy Infrastructure using Terraform/Concourse.
o Experience of taking traditional infrastructure environment and moving to Google Cloud Platform.
o Knowledge/background in executing this via automation, i.e. Terraform, Concourse, etc.
o Ability to optimally configure communication across different zones/regions
o Ensure we are monitoring the right KPIs - what should we be monitoring and what tools should we be using to monitor Google Cloud.
