Positions: Dev-Ops with Windows Environment
Location: Rochester, MN or Houston, TX
Duration: Long term

Visa: No H1B

Job Description:
Must have c#, VSTS, TFS, Azure and have primarily worked in a windows environment.
 

• Liaise with R&D, QA, and IT to ensure deployment processes are documented, repeatable, and smooth
• Deploy internally-developed and purchased applications in a variety of environments
• Design, implement, and configure highly available application environments
• Configure and optimize application and environment settings to maximize application performance.
• Setup robust, distributed environments to maximize application uptime.
• Be available to respond quickly to application issues as they arise
• Provide requirements and feedback to development team regarding application manageability
• Configure application logs to ensure system integrity and security
• Write programs and scripts to streamline the deployment, management, and/or performance of company applications
• Write programs and scripts to integrate applications and systems, including Rest API development
• Diagnose and solve production issues, including advanced troubleshooting of Windows and Linux-based systems
• Assists in software development of applications used to support our internal and external customers.
• Provides guidance to ensure that deployment plans follow best practices and avoid pitfalls to ensure successful deployment.
• Set up automated software builds, tests, and deployments
• Work with developers and project management to coordinate resources to support application development and releases.
• Complete tasks and projects in a timely manner
• Be on call to occasionally work off hours and weekends to support critical business applications
• Implement and manage software development tools, such as TFS, VSTS (Azure DevOps), GIT, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy
• Other duties as assigned

 
Qualifications

• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent experience working with software deployments.
• Strong understanding of distributed and multi-tier computing environments
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills
• Service-oriented mindset
• Team-oriented with exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Programming, scripting and task automation experience in C# or VB and SQL
• Experience using relational database systems
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and code management
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and their configuration
• Understanding of networking concepts and applications, including DNS
• Experience configuring and managing computer systems
