Senior Java Developer

What you'll do:

Write code! This role requires a highly skilled software engineer who is comfortable in an agile environment.

Constantly improve the systems by vigilantly rewriting, refactoring, and perfecting code.

Dedicated to delivering tested and optimized high performance code for a distributed environment

Build & maintain highly scalable solutions.

Provide extraordinary customer support to internal software engineers & external customers.

Use A/B testing approaches to improve the quality and performance of property searches at HomeAway.

Own new features from design to production release

Dedicated to delivering tested and optimized high performance code for a distributed SOA environment

Create and maintain quality software using best-in-class tools: Git, Docker, Splunk, New Relic, Sonar, TeamCity, DataDog, Jenkins, etc.

Participate in resolution of production issues and lead efforts toward solutions

Conduct peer code reviews.

Handle the Pager Duty on-call rotations available 24x7 support while on rotation period.

Actively participate in resolution of the incidents with all the Stakeholders.

Migrate our current tech stack to new stack with Dropwizard, AWS, Elasticsearch etc.

Requirements:

Development experience with Java Web Applications, Service-Oriented Architecture, and Micro-Services, AWS, Elasticsearch or equivalent

Payments & PCI industry experience is a Plus.

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

6+ years of professional software development experience

Excellent communication skills with ability to work well cross-functionally across multiple departments.
