Job title: Data Integration Developer (ETL/Netezza)

Location: San Francisco, CA

Job summary:

The Data Integration Developer will be an integral member of the Data Services Management Team. This is a hands-on role which will be responsible for design, development and implementation of cutting-edge sophisticated data integration, data warehouse and data mart (ELT/ETL) solutions using Netezza, Oracle, Informatica and Denodo. Ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the data warehouse architecture, capabilities, system setup, data integration, data modelling concepts.

 

The primary responsibility of this role is to design, develop, implement, deliver and support large enterprise data warehouse/BI environments. This position requires strong collaboration with solution leads, data modelers, analysts, business partners and other developers to understand business requirements and provide appropriate solutions in alignment with solution implementation architecture.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related discipline.

• 10+ years of proven hands on experience in data integration, data warehouse, BI solution design, development and implementation.

• 5+ years of hand-on experience in at least one relational data source such as Oracle, SQL Server and Data warehouse MPP applications such Netezza, Teradata etc.

• 5+ years of hands on hands on experience with Data Integration and Quality tools like Informatica Powercenter, Informatica Data Quality, Golden Gate Replication.

• Senior level experience with Master Data Management preferably IBM InfoSphere, Denodo data virtualization and Reconciliation tools like Infogix.

• Strong experience with procedural languages such as SQL for Netezza, Oracle and SQL Server Platforms.

• Proven expertise in writing efficient advanced and analytical SQL and Unix shell scripts.

• Hand-on experience in Windows and Linux Operating Systems.

• Working knowledge of manipulating, formatting and implementing data solutions with data from disparate sources such as flat files, xml’s, relational etc.

• Hands-on experience with source version control and continuous integration and delivery tools and methodology.

 

Job Additional Education/Experience

• Expert grasp of data warehouse design techniques including slowly changing dimensions, aggregation, partitioning and indexing strategies. 

• Excellent communications and client interfacing skills as with an ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.

• Analyze and respond to requirements by working with business subject matter experts (SME), solution leads, data analysts and application developers to understand the requirements.

• Expertise in design and development of Data Integration programs, maintenance, enhancement design and implementation, upgrades, testing, performance tuning and optimization.

• Perform functions such as: ensuring application availability and performance, identifying and resolving issues, data reconciliation, process and scalability improvement opportunities, test plan creation, technical and training documentation, and training support.

• Understanding of data integration issues (validation and cleaning), familiarity with complex data and structures.

• Ability to assess the current state and identify opportunities for improvement aligning with current technology trends in business intelligence space.

• Responsible for developing and implementing new products and/or approaches in conjunction with implementing new/existing technologies.

• Develop development best practices, guidelines, procedures and repeatable processes.

• Ability to coordinate issue resolution activities across multiple IT and Business entities.

• Experience with data manipulation, reporting, data mining, and analytics tools (SQL, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, etc.)

• Experience with multiple software development lifecycles, e.g. Agile, iterative, waterfall.

• Experience with release/change management.

• Working knowledge of the Health Care/Insurance Industry systems and business operations a strong plus.

• Must be able to think and perform independently with a minimum of direction or supervision and to adapt quickly to shifting and /or competing priorities.
