Job Description
REASON FOR RESOURCE
Problem Statement The SAP Basis Team requires a dedicated SAP Hana Database Engineer to assist with ongoing SAP initiatives moving from Oracle to Hana. Job Requirements - Architectural guidance including HANA best practices as well as Operational Support functionality on an as-needed basis
- Coverage dunng Pacific Time Zone is critical for SAP Basis Team,
- SAP Team requesting resource to be onsite with SAP Basis in 1440/25th floor
- Resource to provide immediate (non-ticket based) support
- In the Next 12 Months SAP Team is anticipating as much HANA workload as existing Oracle Team currently provides for SAP Oracle database services. This strongly supports an urgent Business Case requirement for hiring a full time SAP Basis/HANA resource to be dedicated to support the Corporate Systems group.
- Resource must be capable of hitting the ground running (not leaming at customers expense).

- DB Naming Convention
- Storage Design.
- Design assistance for DB Sizing Limitation on table entries in HANA (2Billion max per node), 3-Node HANA DB design required, Table currently approaching 2Billion limit. Need proactive and strategic expert advise and support for continued growth with the SAP DB Environment.
- Current Partition Attempts have failed, need expert advise with this and similar matters
- Help redistribute data across complex clustered environments
- Designing Hana database security in collaboration with SAP Security team to ensure corporate and regulatory compliance
- Setting up, documenting and periodically revising build standards for SAP Hana database
Projects requiring resource (over next 12-18 months) - Financial Business Innovation (FBI) is to establish real-time data and monthly close using SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) to bring real time data from ECC.
- Supply Chain and HR by 2019
- BW and BPC Solution to Hana
- ECC to Hana
- ECC Domestic and International under one HANA Platform
MSP support for HANA - Global Ops has SOW with HCL for 2 offshore HANA resources, HANA support should be included in MSP discussions
- RANA Engineer isn't included in current HCL SOW, SOW only covers a Ops Resource for Incident and Operational Requests
