Position: AWS Cloud Engineer
Employment Type: Contract
Location: :: St. Louis, MO
Expectations:
Evaluate current state of CI and CD implementation including source code management, continuous - build, continuous deploy and release management
- Evaluate current tool and process workflows, gain and understanding of the scope of the future desired
- state as an enterprise wide discipline and architect a path to meet scope objectives
- Provide recommendations for improvement and document guidance and standards for teams to follow
- Design and help build tool enhancements (architecture and/or usage) based upon findings and
- recommendations
- Coach teams to follow said standards and recommendations
A platform engineer has the following key skills: - Subject matter expertise with CI/CD and build/test/release automation
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code
- Analytical and problem solving mindset
- Strong experience with scripting (bash, sh, python, bat, etc.)
- Strong experience with Platform Automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, Stack Storm)
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, Azure or Google Cloud Platform and all supporting
- technologies
- Expertise in troubleshooting very complex distributed environments, including following stack traces,
- application & local logfiles, system logfiles, back to code and come up with a good root cause
- Strong experience with Web Services environments, languages and formats including RESTful, APIs,
- HTML, JavaScript , XML, SOAP, JSON
- Experience in application design and skills for migrating applications to the cloud
- Knowledge of a multitude of programming languages including Python, PHP, Java, Node and Ruby on
- Rails
- Must have Chef skills (or able to learn) since the platform and toolchains are managed with Chef
- Knowledge of containerization and modern infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS)
- Knowledge of build, test, and release automation is helpful
