Contract – 3 months with potential extension/conversion to perm (short term to backfill for employee on leave)
- MUST HAVES: MS Access, VBA coding, Excel 2010 &up (advanced level, macros, formulas, etc); SQL Server, PowerPoint
- Interview mode: will most likely hire off the phone but might request in person
- MUST provide VBA sample coding
Overview:
- Strategic Planning Group, they work on supporting board and CEO, get data from various sources and augmenting that data for various reporting which is done by strategic analysts
- Need a backfill to finish some of the coding that recourse was in charge, done in Excel, Access, written in VBA, Access, SQL
- Need someone with strong querying and Access/VBA skills to help with it
- The need will be for a longer period that it was stated originally; potentially can turn to C2H
- D2D: will start from going back to the code for one of the major reporting that was in process, will need to be onsite in Canton, will fix some of the code based on the known defects, then will be covering other initiatives set up for 2018
- There is a lot of work that team needs support on
- Types of files and formats: 3 separate files (daily files around eligibility/benefit/members data; twice a month – group files focused on small market; monthly – ACA files on small/medium markets); these files need to get uploaded to Access, some require some work prior to uploading; in Access they produce reporting files and then put it in PPP to present; cse files
- Healthcare is not required; need someone who can code and has extensive knowledge in coding
- This is time-sensitive so looking to have someone immediately
- Would prefer someone fulltime and will not consider part-time at the moment
- Interview process: phone interview typically, will try to move through this very rapidly, onboard someone ASAP; might need to meet someone in person
- Need to submit the samples of code along with the resume (submit additional page with VBA coding samples)
- Top 3: VBA, Access, Excel; PPP, know how to fix things in Access; SQL Server is a huge plus
- Save the copy of Excel file, refresh the data, and get all the exhibits updated, need someone who can fix hiccups quickly, ability to fix defects
- Reporting is at least twice a week
- This is 100% onsite role, will not entertain anyone who wants to work remotely; needs someone who is a self-starter
- Resource must be self-sufficient, be properly trained on VBA and experienced
- Will start interviewing immediately
REQUIRED ABILITIES/SKILLS:
- 3-5 years Advanced VBA proficiency and appropriate skills for developing applications in the MS Office Suite using MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience with automating sets of very complex excel 2010 spreadsheets.
- VBA scripting experience that involves tailoring complex scripts.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage macro content across multiple spreadsheets, workbooks and presentations.
- Ability to automate exports of spreadsheet content into other MSOffice tools. This includes Access, Excel and PowerPoint using excel workbooks content.
- Demonstrates an ability to create VBA code that is maintainable and is not positional sensitive across sheets and workbooks as the contents of workbooks that are to be automated will change often and are very dynamic both in columnar and row functionalities.
