Job Description

 

As a manager, you will lead end-to-end support for UKG(FORMERLY KRONOS) HCM and Payroll capabilities, ensuring stable operations, on-time payroll cycles, and effective HR–Payroll–Finance integrations (e.g., UKG(FORMERLY KRONOS) ↔ ERP such as Infor CSF). You will be accountable for SLA performance, operational governance, risk and compliance controls (PII/PHI), transition from incumbent environments, and a continuous improvement roadmap including automation and recurring-issue reduction. You will also manage and develop a delivery team and act as the senior escalation point for stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT.

 

Responsibilities

As a manager, you’ll lead a team of problem solvers helping clients solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Service delivery leadership: Own day-to-day managed services delivery for UKG(FORMERLY KRONOS) HRIS, Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll support; ensure operational stability and quality outcomes
  • SLA/KPI ownership: Define, track, and report SLAs/KPIs (payroll timeliness/accuracy, incident volumes, backlog aging, first-time-right, cycle time, repeat incidents); drive corrective actions
  • Payroll cycle oversight: Lead end-to-end payroll execution support including controls, validations, reconciliations, off-cycle processing, and rapid issue resolution to protect pay accuracy and deadlines
  • Functional escalation & problem management: Act as L3 escalation lead; run root cause analysis for payroll and HR process defects; implement prevention plans and monitoring to reduce recurrence
  • Configuration & change governance: Oversee configuration changes, workflow updates, earnings/deduction setup, eligibility rules, and security/access; ensure testing discipline and release readiness
  • Benefits & compensation operations: Govern benefits administration support (enrollment, eligibility, life events) and compensation changes, ensuring policy alignment and auditability
  • Integration oversight (HR–Payroll–Finance): Manage troubleshooting and change coordination for integrations/data flows (UKG(FORMERLY KRONOS) ↔ ERP/Finance), including reconciliation of interface outputs and downstream impacts
  • Compliance, controls & audit readiness: Ensure adherence to statutory payroll requirements, client controls, and data privacy/security expectations (PII/PHI); manage evidence collection and access reviews
  • Reporting & analytics leadership: Oversee operational reporting and data validation; use trends to improve service performance and employee experience
  • Transition leadership: Lead transition from incumbent vendor(s), including knowledge transfer, runbook/documentation uplift, stabilization/hypercare planning, and operating model readiness
  • Continuous improvement & automation: Build and deliver a pipeline of enhancements (standardization, automation, control improvements), with measurable impact on accuracy, cycle time, and ticket reduction
  • Stakeholder & governance management: Serve as primary point of contact for HR/Payroll/Finance leadership; run governance meetings; communicate risks, dependencies, and roadmap recommendations
  • People leadership: Coach and develop team members; manage capacity, utilization, onboarding, and performance expectations

 

Skills and Experience

  • 8–12+ years of experience across HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, and/or Compensation support, with increasing ownership of delivery and stakeholder management
  • Strong functional experience with UKG(FORMERLY KRONOS) (preferred) or similar HCM/payroll platforms, including payroll processing and upstream/downstream process impacts
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Hire-to-retire HR lifecycle and HR shared services operations
    • Payroll processing, controls, reconciliations, and statutory compliance concepts
    • Benefits administration and compensation frameworks
  • Proven experience in SLA-driven managed services environments, including governance, reporting, and continuous improvement execution
  • Strong experience leading HR–Payroll–Finance integrations and data flow troubleshooting (interfaces, reconciliations, error handling, dependency management)
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy/security and access controls for sensitive HR data (PII/PHI)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to translate functional issues into business risk and action plans

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

  • Experience in healthcare and/or other regulated industry environments
  • Exposure to ERP finance integration patterns and downstream financial controls (e.g., payroll GL posting)
  • Familiarity with ticketing tools and service management practices (ServiceNow/JSM, ITIL-aligned incident/problem/change management)
  • Experience leading transition and stabilization activities in managed services/outsourced delivery models
  • Understanding of timekeeping/workforce management dependencies (if applicable) and their impact on payroll accuracy
  •

  • Apply critical thinking to protect payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee experience while maintaining service stability
  • Lead, coach, and develop teams through feedback, performance management, and capability building
  • Handle sensitive HR and payroll data with integrity, confidentiality, and strong judgment
  • Communicate with influence across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders, including escalation management and executive-ready updates
  • Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct, reinforcing strong governance, control discipline, and compliance in HR and payroll operations
