Job Summary: Cedars-Sinai Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cybersecurity Specialist to join our Information Security team. This role is crucial in safeguarding our hospital’s digital assets and ensuring the security and integrity of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong background in solution design, deployment, and operations across desktop, server, and network technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage cybersecurity solutions to protect the hospital’s information systems and data.

Monitor and analyze network traffic, security events, and logs to identify and respond to security incidents.

Implement and maintain security measures for operating systems, including UNIX/LINUX, Windows, and NT.

Configure and manage LAN/WAN networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, IDS/IPS, PKI, and encryption technologies.

Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.

Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure secure deployment of new technologies and systems.

Develop and maintain documentation for security policies, procedures, and protocols.

Provide expertise in Information Classification, Network Security Protocols, and Methods.

Ensure Application and Web Layer Security, including Web 2.0, Secure Messaging, and Secure Protocols.

Assist in the development and execution of Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and architectures.

Manage Identity Access Management (IAM) and Access Control systems to ensure appropriate access levels.

Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve the hospital's security posture.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Cybersecurity Specialist.

Demonstrated understanding of computer/network security principles and practices.

Experience with operating systems: UNIX/LINUX, Windows, and NT.

Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN networking protocols, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, IDS/IPS, PKI, and encryption.

Solid understanding of Information Classification, Network Security Protocols, and Methods.

Expertise in Application and Web Layer Security, Secure Messaging, and Secure Protocols.

Experience in COOP and DR strategies and architectures.

Proficiency in Identity Access Management (IAM) and Access Control.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
