Role: Engineering Manager
Location: Remote
Duration: Long term
Client: Nuanza (CGI)
Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of developers onshore and offshore.
• Lead developer candidate interviews and hiring decisions for both full time employees and contractors.
• Assist employees in building and managing their development plans.
• Remain abreast of industry software technology, software development and support techniques.
• Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new cloud-based software solutions
• Ensure the best solution is designed and implemented on time in a fast-moving lean agile software development environment.
• Other duties as assigned. Required qualifications to be successful in this role REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field or the equivalent in training and experience.
• Strong understanding of software development & micro-service architecture patterns.
• 5+ years of proven development / software engineering experience in an Enterprise environment.
• Experience leading a team of software developers.
• Track record of fast learning and adaption to the new technology and environment.
• Should be proficient developing software using Java and JavaScript.
• Experience building and integrating with billing systems.
• Experience and expertise in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong communication skills. Skill Set Years of Experience Proficiency Level Java and Javascript 5-8 Senior Related Experience 8+ Senior Management experience 5+ DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS
