Job Summary:
As a VMWare Virtualization Architect, you will be an exemplary technical leader in your areas of practice. You bring deep experience and strategic insight spanning from Architecture, Design and Development leadership to client facing solution skills which are among the best in the industry. This role is crucial to realizing cutting edge On-Perm, Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Capabilities and Solutions for clients worldwide.
The role would involve working with highly skilled infrastructure architects and deployment specialists in taking up challenging internal IBM projects to develop and execute complex solutions for IBM clients worldwide. In conjunction with IBM Distinguished Engineers and other key leaders, the Storage Architect would also provide guidance to the larger global Community of Practice (CoP) in their area and drive important community supported projects. He or She will prioritize building critical intellectual capital that may eventually be leveraged by the wider IBM audience through development of best-in-class reusable assets often using bleeding edge technologies on “First of a Kind” projects.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to provide technical support to implement project scope
- Hands on experience in setting up new ESXi Hosts & Clusters
- Experience in vRealize Automation,creating Blueprints & customize workflows.
- Good knowledge in scripting using PowerShell
- Knowledge in upgrading vSphere infrastructure
- Should be an excellent team player and self-motivated
- Good knowledge in vSphere replication, SRM,vROps, NSX
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT industry
- Upgrade and Maintain VMWare ESX and GSX servers and virtual sessions
- Work on major severity and complex server issues
- Provide Backup and restore VMWare servers and virtual sessions
- Drive RCA preparation and meeting SLA for RCA submission along with planning and implementing fixes / patches
- Performance and capacity management on VMWare servers and complex health check-ups
- Perform in 24 x 7 environment in shift roaster and attend calls whenever assigned
- Identify and recommend improvements to existing processes
- Assume personal responsibility for resolving problems in most effective way possible within SLA reaching root cause and preventing problems
- Adhere to all the account specific technical as well as general process / procedures
- Ensure the Service Requests and all pre-requisite checks are followed diligently
