RKCS, a federal/government contractor requires for one of its prime customers an IT  Data Architect/Database Developer!

 

Position is located in St. Paul, MN.

 

Resources will have to interview and perform work on-site.

  

Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications

• Five (5) years’ experience working in a Warehouse/Database Development role

o  A Master’s degree substitutes for three years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree substitutes for two years, or an Associate’s degree substitutes for one year

• Two (2) engagements lasting more than six (6) months in Warehouse Development role

• Five (5) years' experience with business intelligence reporting

• Five (5) years' combined experience with MS SQL Server databases and SSIS

• Five (5) years' combined experience with data modeling and analysis tools

• Five (5) years' experience with warehouse data modeling using the "Kimball" approach.

• Five (5) years' experience working independently on data warehousing

 

Desired Skills

• Proven work experience as a Database developer

• In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)

• Hands on experience with some of these database languages: MySQL, MSSQL, DB2, Oracle, MS SQL or MS Access

• Strong skills in ETL and scripting

• Excellent analytical and organization skills

• Ability to understand front-end users requirements and a problem-solving attitude

• A self-starter able to code as well as advise on design and architecture

• Subject matter knowledge in Early Learning or K-12 education

• Business requirements analysis and specifications

Mandatory Qualifications

 

• B.S. or B.A. degree (4 year) (or Associates degree plus an additional 5 years’ experience)

 • At least 2 previous engagements integrating COTS (commercial off the shelf) solutions in legacy environments.

 • 7+ years’ experience in a business analysis role

 • Experience working directly with both senior business leaders and end-user staff.

• Intermediate-level skills MS Office Suite and MS Visio

 • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Results-focused; self-motivated; self-directed

 • Ability to juggle multiple projects.

Desired Skills • Experience managing projects in state, county, or city governments.

 • Experience managing projects with the in-scope technology.

 • CBAP certification from IIBA or PMI-PBA certification from PMI

Primary Responsibilities

 

• Directing and managing project development from beginning to end, including initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing.

• Application of formal project management disciplines on the project, including:

• Communications, including developing full-scale project plans, status reports and associated communication documents

• Financial management, including drafting and submitting budget proposals, tracking expenditures, and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary

• Integration management, including identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path – Procurement, including developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and assisting with contract development and/or vendor management as needed

• Quality management, including working with sponsors to define success criteria and monitoring progress

• Resource management, including estimating resource requirements and participants needed to achieve project goals

• Risk management, including proactively scanning the environment and logging risks and issues, identifying triggers and risk responses, and escalating as appropriate

• Schedule management, including planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and tracking such milestones and deliverables

• Project scope management, including in project and out of project scope, goals and project deliverables in collaboration with senior management.

• Project change control, including logging change requests, performing impact analyses, tracking requests through disposition, communicating approved changes to impacted stakeholders and modifying relevant project documentation

• Stakeholder engagement, including stakeholder identification and analyses and monitoring / remediating engagement levels throughout the project

• Facilitate knowledge transfer to County staff as appropriate.
