Job Description: AI Researcher / AI Architect – Data & Engineering

Location: Alpharetta, GA – Onsite – Need local

Experience: 13+ Years minimum

 

Role Overview

• The client is seeking a highly experienced AI Researcher / AI Architect with a strong background in data-intensive systems, applied AI/ML research, and enterprise software engineering. This role focuses on designing and delivering scalable AI-driven solutions, bridging research, data engineering, and production systems.
• The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in Python and Java, strong experience working with large-scale data platforms, and the ability to architect and operationalize AI, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions in complex enterprise environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct applied research in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI, focusing on real-world enterprise use cases.
• Design and architect AI-driven platforms leveraging structured and unstructured data.
• Build and deploy data pipelines and analytics workflows to support AI/ML model development and inference.
• Develop and optimize AI/ML and GenAI solutions using Python and Java in distributed, cloud-native environments.
• Design and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), LLM integrations, and AI agent–based workflows.
• Translate research concepts into production-grade, scalable architectures.
• Collaborate with data engineers, platform teams, and business stakeholders to align AI solutions with business objectives.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools and drive adoption where appropriate.
• Ensure AI solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, security, compliance, and scalability.
• Document architecture, research findings, and technical decisions for leadership and engineering teams.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 12+ years of overall software engineering experience with strong focus on data-intensive systems.
• Proven experience in AI/ML research or applied AI engineering.
• Strong expertise in data engineering, including:
• Large-scale data processing
• Feature engineering and analytics
• Distributed data pipelines
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Python and Java.
• Experience with ML/AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of algorithms, statistics, and system design.
• Experience designing microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Spark, Databricks, and data streaming platforms.
