JavaScript Developer

1 year contract(Likely to be extended to 2 years)

Minneapolis, MN

Top Three Skills:

1) Vanilla JavaScript (ES6)- This person should be able to develop web applications from scratch without the use of frameworks. Must be able to demonstrate best practices within JavaScript. Examples-Understanding JavaScript execution. Knowing the fundamental syntax, logic Pattern.

2) React experience.. They are currently using Riot JS and React. People with react will be able to pick up RIOT well. React is a must have.

Job Description:

KEY PROJECT:

Client is looking for a mid to senior Javascript develop to be a part of their Interactive Marketing team. This individual will be allocated to their public sites and/secure sites. There are multiple projects within this portfolio one being a part of brand new development working on a project called the Digital Enable Advice. This is similar to a test or quiz given to their customers to understand how they would like to invest.

The second Project is called their Secure Site Migration. This is a huge initiative that has been ongoing and will continue to be ongoing. The secure site is where Ameriprise's customers login to see their personal account. This is a complete write of their website.

Both of these projects will be a complete rewrite of their document repository where they will be developing new features and adding new enhancements.

Strong JavaScript experience within ES6 (3-5 years)
must be able to demonstrate the fundamentals of JavaScript and write applications from scratch.
They do not care as much about the number of years of experience, more about what they have done specifically within JavaScript.
Prototypes
must know what they are and how they work.
Scoping
what scoping is and how it's used throughout different part of the code.
One must be able to explain ES6 features and how it differs from older versions.
HTML5 and CSS3
React experience
There will be a code challenge in the interview. Please make sure candidates are comfortable with this. Code challenge will be in Javascript (ES6).
They are open to mid level candidates who have a passion for web development. They want candidates to be active on github and really involved in their personal development ( people who do their own projects on the side or go to meet ups).
Candidates must know fundamentals of JavaScript (prototyping, scoping, Es6) and have experience with HTML and CSS. They must also stay up to date with the newer technologies and trends in the market.
