Job Description:

The primary responsibility for the selected resource will be to design, build, and operate the SolarWinds Orion Platform for our customer.  The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in a hands-on technical operations role with an emphasis on monitoring functions, specifically SolarWinds.


Qualifications:

• Must be fluent with IP networking and the IP protocol suite (e.G. TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS, IPSec, SSL, DMVPN, spanning tree, VLANs, vPC, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Must have excellent configuration and troubleshooting skills at OSI layer 2, 3 and 4 in a predominantly Cisco environment.
• Strong network operations (2nd/3rd line complex troubleshooting) and deployment (project) experience for an enterprise/financial environment.
• Expert use of troubleshooting tools such as TCPDump, Wireshark, NMAP, etc.
• In depth experience of Cisco IOS routers, Catalyst/Nexus switches and ASA Firewalls.
• Good knowledge of Cisco LAN/WAN architectures.
• Must be a good team player and able to take personal initiative.
• Must have strong problem-solving ability and communication skills.
• Excellent time management and punctuality.
• Experience of working within an ITIL based ITSM environment.
• Ability to interpret business requirements into network solutions.
• Ability to understand and develop a requirements document that can be understood by business and technical professionals.
• Knowledge of security design and of hardening Cisco router/Switches.
• Knowledge of Cisco WLAN architectures.
• Knowledge of SolarWinds Orion suite (or any other monitoring system).
• SolarWinds Orion Suite (specifically NPM, NCM, SAM, IPAM, NTA)
• Knowledge of Riverbed Steelhead and WAN optimization devices.
• Knowledge of Cisco VoIP/Video Conference technologies.
• CCNP is preferred for this role but equivalent experience is also acceptable.
• Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, Computer Science or a related field of study.
