Job title: Unix Admin with TOMCAT

Location: New York, NY

 

Job summary:

·    Sr. Support Engineer for Unix Admin & Application Support L2 role (will have to perform L0/L1 responsibilities).

Ø Perform the monitoring for the large scale distributed systems.

Ø Identifies critical issues and escalates them accordingly.

Ø Responds to user inquiries and other issues.

Ø Experience in monitoring technologies, automation tasks, platform optimization, tuning, backup strategies and virtualization environments.

Ø Worked on ticketing tool e.g. Service NOW – Incident and Problem Management

 

Experience :

·    Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, advanced degree preferred.

·    Experience managing an application support function at a financial institution.

·    7 or more years’ experience performing application support at a financial institution & Strong Hands on experience of Linux/AIX platforms.

·    Knowledge of active directory, LDAP and Kerberos authentication.

·    Working knowledge of WebSphere Applications (WAS), Tomcat etc.

·    Knowledge and experience with SQL and relational database structures, primarily Oracle and MS SQL.

·    Knowledge of the SDLC and tools such as Source Repositories, Automated Building, and Release Management

·    Strong understanding of Web Application Server (WAS) or TOMCAT, cluster management, deployment manager, with JQuery, Hibernate, Java

·    Coordinating set-up of the WAS/TOMCAT cluster, configuration, installation, patching, upgrading and support on high availability applications.

·    Configuring the connectivity e.g. SFTP, MQ, HTTPS, SOAP/REST/Web services with multiple upstream and downstream applications.

·    Hands on UNIX/LINUX scripting – for monitoring, semi-administrative.

·    Handling set up of scheduling jobs e.g. autosys, tidal, windows scheduler, crontabs.

·    Conducts the disaster recovery failover and the required project planning.

·    Handling user’s entitlements and provisioning for the applications supported.

·       Coordinates with Development and Business Analysts to improve sustainability.

·       Adheres to established information security standards and procedures
