Role Overview

As a Software Developer, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of Morgan Stanley’s next-generation fraud screening platform for real-time fraud detection and prevention. You will work closely with architecture teams to ensure best practices, collaborate with fraud analytics and reporting teams, and participate in the full software development lifecycle within an Agile Scrum environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications for fraud detection and prevention.
• Collaborate with architecture and analytics teams to ensure compliance with best practices.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Share ownership of projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with modern software engineering tools and practices.
• Engage in full lifecycle development, from requirements gathering to production support.

 

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Core Java programming.
• Experience with functional programming and Scala (or willingness to learn).
• Knowledge of Microservices architecture.
• Experience with distributed caching and relational databases (Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL).
• Understanding of middleware technologies (MQ, Kafka).
• Hands-on experience in Linux environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Desired Skills

• Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
• Familiarity with cloud-ready development and Docker containers.
• Understanding of Reactive programming.
• Experience in data modeling and full SDLC.
• Exposure to Agile and DevOps practices, automation, and scripting (Python preferred).
• Experience with Continuous Integration systems.
