Position Responsibilities

Senior Data Scientist to build efficient, data driven systems for a Regional Laboratory team in the Healthcare domain.  This multi-year engagement will be hybrid, working onsite three to four days a week in Berkeley, California.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics and in designing, developing and deploying machine learning models. This role will focus on developing innovative

solutions in healthcare domain.

 

Scope of Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, data scientist and SMEs to understand the domain specific data, select appropriate &

diverse data set, perform feature selection and feature engineering.

Design, develop and implement machine learning algorithms and deep learning application and systems.

Study and transform business problems into machine learning algorithm and application.

Run machine learning experiments, train and monitor machine learning models to identify data drifts, irregularities/anomalies and

document findings and results.

Analyze, improve and maintain existing AI/ML models and solutions.

Build and maintain robust and optimized data pipelines.

Establish performance metrics including accuracy, precision, recall, F1, ROC, AUC to understand model effectiveness.

Explore potential applications of GenAI, RAG, Computer Vision, Time Series and other AI/ML solutions in healthcare domain.

Stay up-to-date with latest advancements in AI/ML industry and incorporate new knowledge and techniques into ongoing projects

 

Skills:

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced dynamic environment.

3  to 7 years of strong industry experience in building and deploying machine learning models in Windows/Linux production environment using Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow.

Expert in Deep Learning, Natural Language Understanding and

Processing (NLU/NLP).

Strong knowledge of Computer vision, LLM and Generative AI, data visualization tools and building data pipelines.

Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis tools.

Experience in building RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) solutions and Time service forecasting.

Working knowledge of Azure/AWS/Google cloud AI and machine learning products and services.

Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
