Role: Sr. Data Engineer (Infrastructure Cloud)
Location: North Chicago, IL ( Onsite)

· Experience with Open System development skills such as Java, JEE, JSP, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, REST, JSON, Junit, JavaScript, HTML, and XML are required.
· Strong experience with Java and related technologies Spring, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, REST controllers, JSON required
· Strong experience with RESTful API development and integration
· Experience developing and maintaining reusable React UI components Experience with API gateways and patterns
· Working Knowledge with Micro Service Architecture
· Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX design
· Ability to design, develop, test, document, and implement quality software within targeted timeframes
· Experience working in a product team with other developers including tech lead, product owner, scrum master, quality engineers etc.
· Participate in Agile routines and ceremonies; daily standups, sprint planning, sprint demos/retrospectives
Key skillsets:
Proficient in multiple programming languages and development frameworks, including, React, Java, JavaScript,JSP, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring JPA,Thymeleaf, Weblogic, CSS, REST, JSON, HTML, XML, SQL, Shell Scripting
Proficient withKubernetes, Konvoy, Docker, Microservices, Github

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
Implements cloud data infrastructure technology stack deployments and evolution for Abbott Enterprise cloud services. Follows a DevSecOps operating model to continuously integrate, deploy and scale our cloud data infrastructure services. Accountable for delivering a comprehensive set of cloud data infrastructure services including requirements definition, design, integration with infrastructure as code approach and handling operations. Participates in proof-of-concept analysis and vendor solution evaluations. Effectively communicates and partners with IS cross-functional teams, IT divisional customers and stakeholders in support of cloud initiatives. Maintain Cloud data Infrastructure architecture best practices with robust design & automation.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serve as a Tech lead for Cloud Data infrastructure services/platforms managed by Abbott BTS cloud services
· DevSecOps, Agile Delivery and SLC methodologies adjusted for cloud data infrastructure service delivery
· Leverage Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to build highly reliable cloud data infrastructure, manage and operate at scale, solve technical problems, and automate operational tasks
· Use Terraform modular approach to deploy all data infrastructure as code (IaC) based XaaS solutions
· Establishes build-and-destroy models for cloud data infrastructure technologies/platforms with blue/green, canary deployment patterns.
· Implement CI/CD pipelines for the deployment of cloud data infrastructure stacks for applications.
· Drive cloud data infrastructure service performance health, troubleshooting, operational metrics & capacity management
· Manage cloud data protection and restoration including data backups, Site recovery & Replication
· Evolve Infrastructure as Code frameworks for data infra / platforms scaling adjustments and optimizations
· Optimize cloud data infra workloads for security, cost, performance, latency, reliability, and availability aspects
· Automate cloud data infra Day2Ops tasks leveraging fully managed data platforms and orchestration tools
· Support IT audits and compliance, adhering to applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
· Implement effective standards, methodologies, and processes, driving change proactively as appropriate for continuous improvement.
· Oversee overall cloud infrastructure estate operational governance & framework for promoting operational efficiencies
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
· No Direct Reports
· This position may require driving technical tasks and execution from contract staffs
Position Accountability/Scope:
· This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager Cloud Data Infrastructure & Operations in BTS.
· The position is accountable for internal cost recovery mechanisms
· This position is a technical escalation contact representing the Cloud infrastructure operations area to partner withall other Abbott IT and business organizations and key external service providers.
· Accountable for awareness of technology trends and the determination/execution of global strategies for
cloud infrastructure to host applications
· Directly impacts the operation and profitability of every division through their reliance on the cloud infrastructure to host Abbott's Enterprise and Business critical applications globally.
Minimum Experience/Training/Skills Required:
· Bachelor's Degree preferred in a technology or management of information systems discipline
· 10+ years of overall IT experience
· 3+ years Azure/AWS IaaS/PaaS Experience as a technical lead
· Must have AWS/Azure cloud certifications
