Role: AWS Solutions Infrastructure Architect
Location: Cambridge MA (Hybrid Remote- 2 days onsite mandatory)
Duration: Long term
Responsibilities:
Hosting Operations – 35%
- Maximize and ensure the availability, security, reliability, and redundancy of Eisai's On-premise,
- AWS and other cloud infrastructure including all end-user computing devices, networks, storage arrays, and geographically distributed collocated server infrastructure.
- Ensure the compliance of all new infrastructure services with the agreed standards support the integration of and convergence to innovative solutions as they emerge.
- Maximize and ensure the safety and security of Eisai's data.
- Accountable for overall quality and delivery of end-user services, including escalated technical support, for global research systems and processes.
Service Lifecycle Management – 20%
- Develop and manage (AD), or contribute (Manager), to Cloud and on-prem hosting services roadmap and budget.
- Proactively manage service and asset management and continuous service improvement.
- Lead the output of Key Performance Indicators that drive the Hosting team to deliver on committed response times and reduce occurrence of underlying issues interrupting services.
- Manage relationships with multiple internal business and vendor contacts, unsure vendors ad MSP's are meeting established SLAs.
Architecture and Process Management – 20%
- Use knowledge of design principles and frameworks to perform and manage all aspects of projects throughout the SDLC including estimation, sprint planning, requirements gathering, architecting, developing, testing, issue/risk management, change control and delivery
- Establish and maintain proactive and reactive monitoring along with related operational processes internally and with external partners.
- Assure technologies implemented for the business remain current by providing End of Life cycle management and processes.
Staff Management, Coaching and Development – 15%
- Manages and lead direct reports including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, and performance management.
- Lead the R&D IT Solutions co-ops program
- Steer the team to deliver outcomes such as service requests and incidents in compliance with agreed-upon service levels and operational-level agreements (OLAs).
- Mentor and educate staff, contractors, co-ops and project teams on delivery best practices and approaches
Projects and EIT initiatives – 10%
- Participate in Global Eisai Cloud and Network initiatives to represent our unique requirements and as a gateway to broader collaboration across Eisai globally.
- Influence and collaborate within and outside IT function to support IT initiatives.
- Communicate and facilitate meetings while adapting communication to varying audiences from users and staff to providers and high-level stakeholders
- Response to after-hours incidents or escalations may be required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree, foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive management experience and career progression at relevant-sized firms is required.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in solution architecture and/or application development
- Associate Director, Minimum 10 years of experience in solution architecture and/or application development
- Team management experience in identifying strengths and weaknesses in an IT staff to create an evolving training, development, and certification plan for each to meet ongoing needs of the business and the technology solutions empowering the business.
- Strong bias for action, a decisive "hands-on" project leader who plans and executes in detail, making complex decisions and taking end-to-end responsibility for achieving results
- Demonstrated project management experience - planning, estimation, execution, issue/risk management and resource management/allocation
- Effective communication both written and oral - Must be able to author reports, business correspondence, presentations, and procedure manuals intended for a non-technical audience. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of technical and non-technical internal customers.
- Experience across all phases of the SDLC and Agile software development practices
- Experience and enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring others to help them further their careers.
