Client: Alliant Energy Corporation

Rate: $55/Hr. on C2C

 

Required Skills:

Kubernetes Experience
Experience with Linux installation and administration.
Experience with Git.
Ability to use open source docker containers.

General:

Demonstrated ability to analyze, draw conclusions, and devise solutions to logical problems.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in an agile & diverse work environment.
Participate in on-call rotations, including outside business hours; must be prepared to travel as required.
Experience using software such as Inkscape for diagrams.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with CI/CDs pipeline using Gerrit, Git, and Jenkins.
Ability to use Python 3 to write network automation.
Experience with developing REST APIs using Python.
Experience containerizing open source tools and deploying in Kubernetes pods.
Ability to develop a simple Web User Interface (UI) using Python and Flask

Job Description:

 

Operates as part of a dedicated team of IT professionals that deploys and maintains network management application infrastructure. Provides operations, administration, management, and provisioning of network management applications on private cloud infrastructure.

Primary Accountabilities

• Plans and collaborates with team members to research, design, implement, document, monitor, maintain, and support private cloud infrastructure running container services and orchestration to support network management and automation applications.
• Utilizes DevOps experience to meet customer expectations around orchestration, automation, provisioning, monitoring, and configuration management of traditional physical devices as well as virtual network functions.
• Develops and operates containers, systems and applications that provide core network services as well as virtual network functions.
• Develops, integrates and operates a configuration management database, IP address management system, identity management.
• Utilizes modern development tools & methodologies like revision control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines and micro-services to build a modern REST api driven infrastructure.
• Coordinates the resolution of unplanned changes, upgrades, or outages of applications and services.
• Resolves medium– to-high complexity technical issues with private cloud infrastructure and applications during and outside of core business hours. Interacts and cooperates with other internal and external support groups to facilitate resolution of technical issues to maximize system availability and meet Service Level Agreements.
• Articulates customer requirements into tasks and stories using Agile tools.  Communicates with peers such that user tasks and stories are clearly understood by all stakeholders.

Supervision

• Performs work under the supervision of a Manager or Senior Engineer.

Services:

• Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker containers.
• Experience with Kubernetes networking and storage plugins

 Networking:

• Understanding of network technologies and protocols.
• Experience in network automation software development on Linux.
