Elavon, inc is a subsidiary of US Bank. Elavon is a processor of credit card transactions for more than 1 million merchants in 30 countries. Their core offerings allow merchants the flexibility to accept payments through integrated mobile, ecommerce, and brick and mortar offerings. Elavon has a suite of tools that allow these merchants to understand their financial health and cash flow and analyze their business while providing same day funding for transaction amounts. Elavon helps their customers to operate secure and compliant payment methods via EMV standards with full encryption and tokenization to provide security.
Project
The core data integration platform for all credit card transaction data has relied on DataStage ETL platforms to integrate data in batch after merchant clearing. While this works very well, Elavon wants to offer more real-time solutions and flexibility to customers by integrating data in real time. Elavon leans on Apache Kafka as well as spark for data streaming in applications built on SpringBoot Microservices. This engineer will be responsible for analyzing and understanding the batch data ingestion, creating a PoC with Kafka, and building and deploying the minimum viable product. This person will participate in design and architecture as well as coding.
