Summary:
Reporting to the IS Operations Manager, Global Network Services the IP Telecommunications Engineer position is responsible for the delivery of network services in a global enterprise environment. The successful candidate must have a detailed knowledge of networking technology with a specialty in Voice over IP technology from Cisco. They must be team oriented and have strong leadership ability. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on attention to detail and will have the authority of character to make sure everything is done correctly and with integrity.
Responsible for all operational aspects of the telecommunications network including meeting standards, technical integration, and addressing incidents on a daily basis
Assist in deployment of new voice projects and services in the Enterprise
Work cooperatively with other engineering resources to maintain and revise technical documentation
Responsible for troubleshooting issues and issue management for all VoIP and traditional TDM services in the Asia/Pacific region
Make recommendations to the senior engineering resources to identify problem areas in a proactive way and assist in developing solutions to meet the challenges in the converged network environment.
Key Technical Skills
• 3+ years of experience in supporting legacy telecoms systems
• 1+ years of Level II support experience
• Technical expert with 1+ years’ experience in at least two of the following technologies
• PBX (Nortel, Avaya etc…)
• TDM
• UCCE/UCCX
• IPT (Cisco Preferred)
• VOIP (Cisco Preferred)
• Unified Communications (Cisco / Microsoft)
• Voice gateways / routers
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree required. Preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5 years of IS and business/industry work experience
• 5 years of experience with telecommunications technologies
• Cisco CCNP Voice certification is strongly preferred
• Strong leader with a desire to educate and develop good young talent within the team
• Solid process skills with an understanding of change control processes and managing critical production environments
• Strong inter-personal, analytical thinking, presentation and communication skills essential
• Ability to work in a global team environment
