Position: Data Engineer (Oracle BI) Platform Admin

Location: Charlotte, NC – Hybrid – Need only Local

Need 9+ Years exp candidate’s

 

The Lead Engineer will play a pivotal role in administering and maintaining software platforms, with a primary focus on supporting the Oracle BI application, which is nearing retirement. This position will also contribute to modernization initiatives across all Business Intelligence (BI) tools. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, enabling effective coordination with technical leads, architecture, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain the Oracle BI application, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Support modernization initiatives across various BI tools, facilitating the transition to more advanced solutions.
• Collaborate with tech leads, architecture, and infrastructure teams to align on project goals and deliverables.
• Utilize Cloud (GCP) and on-prem installations (Windows/Linux VM) to enhance platform capabilities.
• Build and deploy software and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Ansible, GitHub, and Harness.
• Develop and implement scripts using Python and Shell to administer and monitor platforms effectively.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for BI applications and related software platforms.
• Document processes, configurations, and changes to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in BI tools and cloud technologies.

Mandatory Skills:

• Proven experience in Oracle BI Development.
• Strong proficiency in administering and maintaining software platforms.
• Experience with Cloud (GCP) and on-prem installations (Windows/Linux VM).
• Expertise in building and deploying software and IaC using Ansible, GitHub, Harness, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Proficient in Python and Shell scripting for platform administration and monitoring.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with other BI tools and platforms.
• Experience in project management methodologies.
• Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools.
• Understanding of database management systems and data warehousing concepts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in cloud technologies or BI tools are a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
