Job Title:  Windows Admin         Location:  Irving, TX Contract: 6 Months Job Description: Job Details:  Must Have Skills (Top 3 technical skills only): 1. Client has some 120+ Windows 2008 servers which need to be replaced with 2016 versions. 2. Senior Tech leads (Windows Engineers) who can the bottom line for windows server these migrations. 3. Work with the owners of processes to understand what could be needed to move that process from current 2008 server to 2016 windows server Nice to have skills (Top 2 only) 1. Understand server level configurations to be able to migrate them to new servers 2. Technical enough to be able to install nonproprietary softwares (say MS Access, jobs) from one server to another and test. Detailed Job Description: Minimum years of experience: 5+ years Windows Server migrations Understand what all processes, jobs, servers, applications are running on a particular windows machine. Work with the owners of processes to understand what could be needed to move that process from current 2008 server to 2016 windows server. List down activities, dependencies etc. App changes, compatibility, DB changes, Network changes, communication etc. Plan out the migration and lead it. Top 3 responsibilities you would expect the Subcon to shoulder and execute*: 1. Ability to understand potential impact of moving a process application to a new server version 2. Work with the owners of processes to understand what could be needed to move that process from current 2008 server to 2016 windows server 3.
