senior (10 years+) Informatica developer with very strong SQL and Unix scripting experience. Cloud/Big Data experience is a huge plus.
The Application Developer is expected to work with the business analysts and development leads to develop, maintain and support Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) aspects of the Data Warehouse Solutions. The person in this role may assist with the preparation of detailed specifications and will be responsible for the technical design, development, documentation, testing, implementation and support of new ETL requirements. Maintains an understanding of the inputs received from the data source providers. Responsible for planning, estimation and monitoring schedule milestones and deliverables for assignments. Possesses strong SDLC experience and manages appropriate levels of systems documentation as required.
The responsibilities for this role are:
• Collaborate with business analysts and subjct matter experts to design and implement data integration solutions • Deliver ETL and related components as specified in the design, functional and non-functional requirements, within established budget, time and quality standards • Perform unit testing of ETL jobs and related components and document test results • Performance tuning of ETL jobs and related components • Provide resolution to an extensive range of complicated ETL-related problems, proactively and as issues surface • Informatica PowerCenter 10.x configuration and support including installation, upgrades, performance tuning, etc. • Perform code version control activities.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Good understanding of BI/DW system architectures, methodologies and data modeling • Current and hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter 9.x and higher on Unix platforms • Proficiency in RDBMS, complex SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, performance tuning and troubleshooting • Problem-solving skills with minimal supervision • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with geographically dispersed teams at various times
DESIRABLE SKILLS
• Informatica Cloud
• Informatica Big Data Edition
• AWS Redshift, S3, EC2
• Big Data (Hadoop and Hive/Impala) – Cloudera Distribution
EXPERIENCE
• 9 or more years of work experience in delivering data integration solutions using ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter on Unix platforms • 3 years of current and hands-on experience with complex SQL and high-volume Relational databases and SQL Query performance tuning • 3 years of current and hands-on UNIX shell scripting experience • 2 years of current and hands-on experience with an enterprise job scheduler (Control-M, Autosys, Redwood, etc).
