Role1: Sr. Business Analyst with Data Management
Location: Deerfield Beach, Florida
Duration: 6 + months
Exp.: 8 years minimum
No OPTs
Locals are preferred
 
Technology/Application Requirements:
·        7+ years experience working as a BI analyst or data analyst leveraging BI tools in a centralized data warehouse environment
·        5-7+ years hands-on experience working with SQL with an understanding of different data structures (flat files and RDMS)
·        3+ years experience with data modeling concepts and techniques
·        Proven experience on projects involving data integration, data warehousing, data cleansing and data conversion process and/or tools
·        Experience working with Cognos v.8.x or higher or similar BI tool  
·        Experience working with Teradata Data Warehouse or other RDMS  
 
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 7 years of related professional experience 
·        Degree in technology related area preferred
·        Certification in Data Management (CDMP) or Business Intelligence (CBIP) is a plus 
 
Job Responsibilities:
·        Elicit, understand, interpret and represent business requirements for data, information delivery and analytics, data integration, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, and performance
·        Act as the conduit between the customer and technical teams to ensure requirements are understood
·        Understand source systems and its data models
·        Work with architects to translate requirements into technical specifications
·        Validate that data integration, data movement, and warehouse meets requirements and service-level agreements
·        Develop source to target mappings for data lineage
·        Analyze data to validate business domains and requirements
·        Conduct data profiling and ensure data quality requirements are accurate and complete
·        Act in an advisory capacity in data model reviews, architecture approach and solution design to ensure high quality deliverables
·        Coordinate prototype reviews
·        Partner with management and business units on innovative ways to successfully utilize data and related tools to advance business objectives
·        Provide technical guidance and mentoring to business and data analysts
·        Execute and promote data management strategy
·        Work with Quality Assurance teams in defining the QA strategy, test plans and use cases to validate data
·        Communicate planned and unplanned activities to appropriate parties as needed

§  Knowledge of data cleansing and data conversion processes, techniques and/or tools
§  Experience working with a Business Intelligence tool (e.g., Cognos, Tableau and/or SAS) is a plus 
§ Experience with Teradata is a plus  
 
Job Responsibilities:
§  Develop business cases, define high level business objectives, and develop key success factors for solution delivery
§  Elicit, understand, interpret and represent functional and non functional requirements to include business and stakeholder requirements, data and information requirements, data integration, metadata, data quality, service levels and performance
§  Plan and facilitate requirements elicitation workshops using a variety of techniques such as Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions, interviewing, brainstorming, job shadowing, use stories and other similar requirements elicitation techniques
§  Function as liaison between information systems group, vendors and other departments as needed
§  Apply judgment in interpreting and delivering business solutions that optimize the user’s experience
§  Articulate technology in terms stakeholders and can understand and conversely articulate business concepts and processes to the technical team
§  Analyze, categorize, document, and validate requirements to the appropriate level of granularity so that technical teams are able to translate to system design
§  Work with Quality Assurance teams in defining the QA strategy, test plans and use cases for QA activities
§  Recommend, evaluate, implement and champion changes in processes and procedures in order to improve the work environment
§  Communicate planned and unplanned activities to appropriate parties as needed
§  Anticipate and understand the impact of changes in business objectives and its effect on project scope
§ Partner with management and business units to define innovative ways to utilize data and related tools to advance business objectives
§  Coordinate prototype reviews
