Java Developer Job Duties - Designs and develops web service layers to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets;
- Complete programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.
- Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Work effectively with JIRA as the task management tool.
- Build design documents, and technical implementations details including but not limited to physical environment, data flow, and software architecture of new/existing systems.
- Participate and contribute in development estimation sessions and being able to deliver tasks within reasonable tolerances of estimated effort.
- Engage with QA testers to delivery products with a very low defect rate.
- Experience with messaging using REST and SOAP and complete knowledge of a specific implementation.
- Familiarity working within Agile project management and quality assurance processes.
- Individual should have a demonstrable track record of delivering IT solutions.
