Location: Detroit, MI Duration: 6+ months Contract to hire Interview Mode: PHONE & IN-PERSON     MUST SUBMIT SOME TYPE OF PL/SQL Test RESULTS AND REFERENCES   Position Responsibilities: This role focuses on working with other information technology departments to create automated client solutions that adhere to software development lifecycle best practices: sql development, stored procedures, data modeling and architecting. The successful candidate will analyze and translate business requirements into data and functional requirements. Responsibilities include analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation as well as ad-hoc reporting and script creation for various projects. Analysis is expected to be detailed, thorough and presentable to multiple audience’s; technical and business. This position reports to a Technical Solutions Manager Experience and Skills: Required Qualifications and Experience: Minimum six years of coding in a database environment that follows software development life cycle: requirements: development, testing, documentation; including database objects, tables, views, packages, functions, procedures, indexes, sequences and triggers using sql. Strong data and business analysis skills are required. The successful candidate will be able to interact fluently with both business and technical teams/clients. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must be motivated to optimize processes: both legacy and new. Minimum six years of data analysis: financial services, automotive as well as customer data stores. Experience translating requirements into technical and functional specifications using Oracle and SQL. Successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently as well as a team member Data validation, auditing, security concepts, and advanced SQL using disparate data sources. Five years UNIX-Shell programming Five years data modeling and architecting data driven solutions.   Optional: Exposure to Cloudera Hadoop   EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE A Bachelor of Science in a technical field of study is required.
