Position: APIGEE Developer

Location: San Leandro, CA

Rate: $60/hr.

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced APIGEE Developer with strong expertise in API development, API gateway implementation, and integration solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Apigee Edge/X, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, security policies, and cloud integration technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain APIs using Apigee Edge/Apigee X.
• Implement API proxies, policies, shared flows, target servers, and developer portals.
• Develop and manage RESTful and SOAP web services.
• Configure API security policies including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Key validation, and threat protection.
• Integrate Apigee with backend systems, microservices, and cloud platforms.
• Perform API traffic management, analytics, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation for API deployments.
• Ensure API performance optimization, scalability, and high availability.
• Prepare technical documentation and support production releases.

 

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Apigee Edge or Apigee X.
• Expertise in REST APIs, JSON, XML, and SOAP services.
• Experience with API security protocols: OAuth, JWT, SAML, SSL/TLS.
• Knowledge of microservices and API-led architecture.
• Experience with JavaScript, Java, or Python scripting within Apigee.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
• Good understanding of API lifecycle management.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized deployments.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Prometheus.
• Apigee certification is a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

 

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

 

Nice to Have:

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Banking, Healthcare, or Retail domain experience.
• Exposure to MuleSoft, Kong, or other API management platforms.
