Job Description

 

Who are we looking for?

15+ years of relevant IT experience, including, the Capital Markets & Derivatives Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing business and technology solutions for trading, risk management, clearing, settlement, and regulatory processes across capital markets and derivative products. This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, trading desks, risk teams, and technology groups to ensure optimal business functionality and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
• Collaborate with traders, quants, risk managers, and operations teams to understand business needs.
• Document detailed business, functional, and non functional requirements for trading and derivative processes.
• Perform gap analysis between existing systems and business needs.
• Translate business requirements into system specifications for technology teams.
• Capital Market & Derivative Product Expertise
• Understand end-to-end trade lifecycle for asset classes like:
• Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Money Markets
• Listed & OTC Derivatives: Futures, Options, IRS, CDS, Swaps, Forwards
• Support pricing, valuation, risk, P&L, collateral, and margin workflows.
• Ensure alignment with latest market standards (FIX, FpML, ISDA, SEF/OTF requirements).
• System & Data Analysis
• Work closely with development teams to design trading workflows, risk engines, and reporting modules.
• Use SQL, data analysis tools, and trade data models for investigation and validation.
• Support integration with trading platforms (Calypso, Murex, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc.).
• Regulatory & Risk Compliance
• Interpret regulatory requirements (MiFID II, EMIR, Dodd Frank, Basel III, IFRS 9).
• Ensure compliance in trade reporting, clearing, margining, and settlement processes.
• Support risk management processes: market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk.
• Testing & Implementation
• Create test plans and execute UAT/SIT for trading and derivatives modules.
• Validate pricing models, valuations, trade workflows, and risk reports.
• Coordinate deployments, production validation, and post go live support.
• Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact between business and technology teams.
• Conduct workshops, training sessions, and status updates.
• Manage priorities, expectations, and project timelines.
