Job Title: Java Lead – Kafka, MongoDB, Cloud Migration

Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Rate: $69/hr on C2C

 

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Java Lead Developer with strong experience in Kafka, MongoDB, and Cloud Migration to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of Solution Architecture and be able to lead the end-to-end migration of enterprise applications to the cloud.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade applications using Java (Spring Boot, Microservices).
• Drive cloud migration efforts for legacy systems to platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Architect solutions that integrate with modern streaming platforms like Kafka and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Collaborate with DevOps, cloud engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure scalable and secure solutions.
• Act as a technical lead, mentoring junior developers and participating in code reviews and best practices enforcement.
• Design high-performing APIs and RESTful services, enabling smooth third-party integration and internal microservice communication.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of Java backend development experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (producer/consumer model, schema registry, message processing).
• Proficiency in MongoDB including schema design, performance tuning, and querying large datasets.
• Experience with cloud migration projects (AWS preferred) including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or re-architecting.
• Familiarity with Solution Architecture principles (scalability, fault tolerance, latency, and security best practices).
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead discussions with architects and business stakeholders.
