Relatively high level resource. Be good at getting things done, interact with others well, be the seed of the team, strong AI experience, Gen AI, predictive AI/ ML. Bigger need more generative AI (stronger need).
Hands on in code but also leading and directing the team
Primarily in Python and NodeJS backend (more backend focused), Restful API's, building data pipelines, Angular or React on front end but less concerned on F/E.
Very data heavy- AI and ML all about connecting the data
AWS- bedrock and sagemaker for ML's. Lambdas. Dynamo and S3 datalakes.
Building products and systems that scale with AI being the core of it- need good examples of doing this in the past.
Wants to see similar job title- Staff is definitely above Sr level Dev. Tech leadership + hands on tech ability. Team will be smaller to start ( 5 total) so out the gate is 70/30 writing code heavy as the team grows then 60/40.


Staff Engineer:

High level engineer
Relatively deep in a specific area- product engineering AI, data AI.
Missing: Good at application engineering- had done some POC but no additional areas of expertise, have deployed these products.
Have Angular front end, python/ node on backend, ML flow, github actions, AWS (bedrock or sagemaker), dynamo, build lambdas.
Building an image processing product- have 120k blue trash containers
Leadership skills are good- coordinating the team, making sure things are in alignment.
Definitely more of a hands on technical role


Top Required Skillsets:

• Minimum of 12+ years of experience in engineering working with:
  • Python, TypeScript/Javascript, Angular or React, or NodeJS
  • Relational as well as NoSQL databases
  • Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • CI/CD tools and processes such as GitHub Actions
• Expert knowledge of cloud architectures, and services within Amazon AWS. Specific including:
  • AI/Client services: Bedrock, SageMaker
  • Compute: Lambdas, ECS, API Gateway, Step Functions
  • Data: DynamoDB, RDS, S3
  • Observability: CloudWatch logs, metrics and alarms
• Significant experience in AI and Client technologies, tools, and processes such as MLFLow, RAGAS, RAG, prompt engineering, Client or LLM Ops, computer vision or NLP, Client model training and inference

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and talented Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. In this role, the Staff Engineer will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions that drive our company's products and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy scalable AI systems that solve complex business problems. The successful candidate must have significant experience in building and delivering AI solutions at scale. We are also looking for a candidate that can lead a team and enable them to deliver on aggressive timelines.

PROJECT INFORMATION:
The AI core team supports several AI/Client based projects in different capacities depending upon the needs of the project. We also build and support the primary AI chat platform (chatRSG) that provides secure access to Generative AI for our entire organization. The AI core team also leads the AI center of excellence and will provide guidance, frameworks, tooling, and education on AI technologies.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides technical direction related to project deliverables for both on-shore and off-shore team members.
• Contributes to project deliverables by performing software development and/or system administration tasks as needed.
• Reviews business requirements and technical analysis to develop system implementation approaches designed to meet business objectives, while also consulting with Solution/Enterprise Architects.
• Actively leads efforts to ensure code quality and coding standards are met, including but not limited to pull request reviews, formal code reviews, or coaching for team members.
• Provides support and resolution of open IT issues escalated by the product team
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, developing, planning and executing scalable technology solutions, tools, operations and support. Ideally using technologies such as:
  • Programming languages such as: Python, TypeScript/Javascript, Angular or React, or NodeJS
  • Relational as well as NoSQL databases
  • Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • CI/CD tools and processes such as GitHub Actions
• Expert knowledge of cloud architectures, and services within Amazon AWS. Specific technologies include, but are not limited to:
  • AI/Client services: Bedrock, SageMaker,

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
