Job Summary:
Our client is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join their Mobile Insights team out of their Denver, CO, office! The role will primarily focus on data cleaning, preparation, and ETL tasks to support our Data Science team. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our data processes and reducing costs associated with AWS resources. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for learning, a knack for optimization, and a strong technical background in SQL, PySpark, and Python.
Duties:
- Clean and prepare data for analysis by the Data Science team
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for efficient data ingestion
- Optimize ETL processes to reduce AWS resource usage and costs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven optimizations
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in SQL, Pyspark, and Python
- Experience with AWS services (e.g., EMR, Lambda, S3, Athena) preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Proven track record of taking initiative and driving results
- Prior experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools is a plus
- Knowledge of data modeling and statistical analysis techniques is desirable
