Job Description Responsibilities: - Understand enterprise data strategy, landscape, and challenges across on-prem and Azure cloud.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, data architects, and developers, to gather requirements and understand the organization's data needs.
- Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models using Erwin based on business requirements and industry best practices.
- Ensure the integrity, reliability, and performance of data models by conducting thorough testing and validation.
- Optimize and fine-tune data models to enhance data retrieval and processing efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to development teams in implementing data models within various applications and databases.
- Collaborate with database administrators to ensure the proper implementation and maintenance of data models across the organization's data infrastructure.
- Conduct data modelling reviews and participate in data governance activities to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data modelling techniques, tools, and technologies, and recommend improvements to existing processes.
Skills Required: - 5-7 years of hands-on experience with conceptual, logical and physical dimensional data modelling.
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts, data warehousing, and dimensional modelling (star schema, snowflake schema).
- Experience in translating business requirements into effective data models.
- Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex data-related issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- General understanding of cloud file formats such as Parquet, JSON, AVRO, ORC
- General understanding of compute environments such as Databricks or integration architectures and tools such as Informatica, ADF.
- General understanding of data model evolution, versioning
- General understanding of reference and master data management, data quality management, systems integration, and data cataloguing.
- Define standards & best practices for modelling and naming conventions.
- Deliver well defined data dictionary and business glossary for data models.
